Introducing the New and Improved Management Diploma in Insurance
Our Management Diploma in Insurance (MDI) has been undergoing something of a transformation. The programme, our most advanced professional qualification, provides members with in-depth and specialised insurance expertise, as well as greater business acumen at management level.
As with all our professional qualifications, it’s vital that our assessment methods meet the needs of the modern-day insurance professional, and that our content and its delivery reflect market trends and the career aspirations of our students. With this in mind we redesigned the MDI programme to provide a more flexible assessment method with a streamlined delivery and the ability for students to benefit from a more practical application of their newly acquired knowledge.
So what’s new?
We’ve introduced a mixed assessment model
To be awarded the MDI qualification students must complete a total of five modules split across compulsory, diploma and advanced level diploma modules. The programme is moving away entirely from an exam-only based assessment to a mixed assessment method and although these changes are being introduced on a phased basis, 2019 saw the education team make greater progress in getting this newly designed approach closer to completion.
The content and delivery has been completely redesigned
We have redesigned the content to include the development of key management skills such as critical thinking, report writing, research and problem solving – more reflective, we believe of the skills the market demands.
It’s not only for insurance professionals
The MDI is built for professionals looking to enhance their technical insurance knowledge and progress into senior or management roles. It’s not only designed for those working within the insurance industry, but also for those working in areas that support it.
The course is mainly online, but our team and your peers are there to support you
We believe that online is the best way to deliver content to busy professionals, but we are conscious that students also need the support of our team and their peers. This is why we’ve built face to face induction sessions at the start of each module, as well as live tutorials throughout the course, and we’ve also created a dedicated channel where you can ask the team any questions you might have.
You can earn CPD hours and credits towards the ACII as you progress
Students studying MDI modules accumulate CPD hours as they successfully complete assignments and exams. The hours allocated for each successful completion vary, but typically we award 8 hours CPD for each successfully completed module.
